(Everything You Need + What Can Be Submitted Later)

Many applicants worry that missing or unclear documents will block their application.

This guide explains exactly what you need to upload now, what can be submitted later, and how to avoid common upload problems.

📌 What You Must Upload Now

At the application stage, you are required to upload three documents:

âś” Birth Certificate

  • A clear photo or scan
  • All text must be readable

âś” National Identity Card

  • Front and back (if applicable)
  • Clear and valid

âś” School Report (Last Completed Academic Year)

  • The final report card from the most recently completed school year
  • Not the current, ongoing year

These documents allow us to verify identity and academic background.

🛂 Passport: When Is It Required?

A passport is not required at the time of application.

Important to know:

  • âś” You can apply without a passport
  • âś” Passport is required only after selection, for visa purposes
  • ❌ Not having a passport does not block your application

If selected, you will be informed when and how to submit it.

🌍 Language & Translation of Documents

All documents can be submitted in Portuguese.

  • âś” Portuguese documents are fully accepted
  • ❌ No translation to English is required at this stage
  • ❌ Do not delay your application to translate documents

Translations may be requested later, only if needed.

📚 “Boletim Escolar”: What Does It Mean?

This is one of the most common points of confusion.

“Boletim escolar” means:

  • The final school report from the last academic year you completed

Accepted formats include:

  • Full report card with grades
  • “Pauta” or “transitou” document
  • Reports without averages (if averages are not issued)

Not required:

  • Certificates from many years ago
  • Reports from the current year that is not finished

⚙️ Upload Tips (Avoid Common Problems)

To avoid upload errors, follow these tips:

File type

  • Use PDF or JPG
  • Avoid screenshots with very low quality

File size

  • Keep each file reasonably sized
  • If the file is too large, compress it or rescan

Phone scanning

  • Use good lighting
  • Place the document on a flat surface
  • Make sure all corners are visible
  • Avoid shadows and blur

Multiple pages

  • Combine pages into one file per document
  • Keep files clearly readable

If an upload fails, refresh the page and try again calmly.

đź’ˇ Final Reminders

  • Upload the best documents you currently have
  • Do not wait for documents that are not required now
  • Missing items can be requested later, if needed
  • Clear documents matter more than perfect formatting

The goal at this stage is verification, not perfection.
