The Angola Brilliant Minds Scholarship is now officially open for applications — and if you are between 14 and 16 years old and dream of studying Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) in the United Kingdom, this may be your moment.
This article explains, in simple words, what the application form asks for, what the regulations require, and what you should expect next.
1. What This Scholarship Offers 🎓
This is a full academic journey in the UK that covers:
- 2 years of secondary education (liceal)
- 3–4 years of university studies
All fully funded by the scholarship, as long as you continue to meet the academic requirements.
Each year, up to two students in Angola will receive this opportunity.
2. Who Can Apply? (Key Requirements) ✅
Before filling in the form, make sure you meet the official criteria:
✔ Age: 14–16 years old
This is a strict requirement.
Applicants must be not older than 17 years of age on 1 September 2026.
✔ Strong Academic Performance
- Minimum average of 15/20
- Minimum score of 17/20 in national exams (submitted later, at the national stage)
- Interest in STEM fields (STEM only)
✔ English Fluency 🌍
Sufficient fluency to understand the tests and study in an English-speaking environment.
✔ Motivation Letter (Required) ✍️
A motivation letter is required. (Not a recommendation letter.)
3. What the “Apply Now” Form Asks For 📝
The form is simple and divided into four parts:
A. Student Information
- Name
- Date of birth
- Province and full address
- Email and mobile phone
- Current school
- Four best subjects
B. Parent / Guardian Information
- Names
- Emails
- Phone numbers
C. Additional Questions
- Parent/guardian consent
- Passport status (not required now, needed later)
- Publicity consent
- How you heard about the scholarship
- Access to phone or laptop
D. Document Upload 📎
- Birth Certificate
- National Identity Card
- Final report card for the previous academic year
Passport is required after selection, not at application stage.
4. What Happens After You Apply? ⏳

Shortlisted applicants sit exams in their province.
Step 2 — National Stage
Top performers advance to the national stage.
Step 3 — Final Selection
Up to two students receive the full scholarship.
