Overview

The Angola Brilliant Minds Scholarship funds secondary (liceal) and university education in the United Kingdom in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), as defined in the official regulations.

The programme supports the full academic journey of the selected students — up to 6 years, including 2 years of secondary education and 3–4 years of university studies.

Only two candidates are awarded each year, based on national examinations.

Who Can Apply

Students who meet the following requirements:

14–16 years old at the time of application, (not older than 17 years of age on 1 September 2026).

Sufficient English fluency to understand the tests.

Minimum school average of 15/20 in fundamental education

Minimum exam score of 17/20 in the national scholarship test

Must pursue studies in STEM fields only (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)

Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

Provincial Exam

(electronic platform)

National Exam in Luanda

for the top provincial candidates

Evaluation panel review

for tie-breaking and final ranking

 

Candidates must achieve a minimum score of 17/20 to qualify. The top two national results receive the scholarship.

Duration and Obligation

Duration

Scholarships last up to 6 years — 2 years of secondary education and 3–4 years of university, depending on the degree programme.

Post-Graduation Obligation

After completing studies, the scholar must work for Moharra’s Invest or a partner institution.

If placed with a partner institution, that organisation must compensate Moharra’s Invest for the training costs.

Is the scholarship fully funded?

Yes. It covers tuition, accommodation, and related costs.

Do I need to return to Angola after my studies?

Yes — this is central to the programme. A career pathway awaits you.

Can students from all provinces apply?

Absolutely. Equal access across all 21 provinces is guaranteed.

What language will I study in?

English. Support for academic integration will be provided.

How many scholarships are offered?

Between 2 and 4 students in the 2025/26 cycle.

What academic averages do I need?

You must have 15/20 minimum school average and 17/20 minimum score on the national exam.

Does the scholarship fund university?

Yes. It covers secondary + university education for up to 6 years.

How many scholarships are available?

Only two per year.

Do my parents need to provide income documents?

No — financial documentation is not required at the application stage.

What fields can I study?

Only STEM fields: science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
